"V" Puppies!

Our "V" pups were born October 17, 2007. There are 2 females and 6 males. Their mother, Marilyn, is a second time mom. Webb, the dad, is an ADI supporter and show dog.

The puppies love to be petted by trained volunteers. Stop by and give them a hug!

Puppy Petting

A “Puppy Pause”

The Institute’s Puppy Petting Orientation classes are taking a pause.  Our next set of puppy paws are planned for late in 2008. So the classes are suspended until new pups are on their way.

Please check back – we’ll post news of our resumed Puppy Petting Orientation classes here.

Meantime, if you would like to take a tour of our facilities or volunteer in another way, such as office work, cleaning, or facility maintenance please contact us. Thank you.

Discover the magic of puppy love. Puppy petters of all ages know the joy and satisfaction of realizing that their volunteering is key in the development of superior Service Dogs. The "fit-your-schedule" hours make puppy petting very convenient.

Hynek with "Q" pups born May 2, 2006

Puppy petters start by attending a 2 hr. Puppy Petters Orientation to learn special techniques for interacting with our newborn puppies. Due to the popularity of our puppy petting program, there may be a waiting period to attend an orientation. It is also subject to the availability of puppies. We have approximately four to five new litters each year.

Long-term puppy petters who wish to participate in more advanced projects, may be asked to attend additional training. Please call for more information and to register for our next orientation.
